Welcome to Praktis
I've been thinking a lot about church lately...and why we do what we do. In all reality, the "church" we know today isn't much like the church when it first started. They would gather daily, share everything they had, and sell what they didn't in order to provide for the needs of their hurting neighbors. In fact, the word "church" has only recently come to mean a building. In Greek, the language many early Christians would have used, it means a gathering of people...people whose belief in God's love for the world changed the way they lived.
They practiced it...everyday in the grit and grime of messing up and being forgiven by God and each other. For this reason we're calling the senior high youth group "Praktis." This love we profess to believe in needs to be practiced, if it isn't what good is it?
If you're in high school and looking for someplace to be forgiven, encouraged, and listened to all while making a difference in the lives of others, this is the place for you. We invite you to practice faith with us, not just talk about it.
