A couple of years ago, a British man started a movement by putting an ad in a newspaper simply saying, "Join me." The movement started slowly, but within a year or two he had hundreds of people who had joined even though no one knew what the movement was about. This speaks of the power and desire to belong.
A couple of thousand years ago, a Jewish man started a movement by inviting some fishermen, a tax collector, a revolutionary, and others telling them, "Follow me." This man was Jesus. His first followers may not have understood fully what was coming, but when they heard him speak, saw him heal, and witnessed the miracles he performed, they had no choice but to leave all things behind and follow him. The world has never been the same.

Going Deeper
Our theme in worship for this year is Going Deeper. We are trying to engage the worship and Word of God at a deeper level. One way we have chosen to do this is to memorize the Bible together. All of these are wonderful, but can they help us make the world we live in a better place? Can they remind us of the love that God showers down on us?
Our Bible verse for April is Hebrews 13:1-2:
"Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it."
