A couple of years ago, a British man started a movement by putting an ad in a newspaper simply saying, "Join me." The movement started slowly, but within a year or two he had hundreds of people who had joined even though no one knew what the movement was about. This speaks of the power and desire to belong.
A couple of thousand years ago, a Jewish man started a movement by inviting some fishermen, a tax collector, a revolutionary, and others telling them, "Follow me." This man was Jesus. His first followers may not have understood fully what was coming, but when they heard him speak, saw him heal, and witnessed the miracles he performed, they had no choice but to leave all things behind and follow him. The world has never been the same.

I member reading these passages (specifically chapter 9) about a year and a half ago. We were preparing for a service of healing at church and I wanted to see how Jesus did it.
