One Who Is Worthy

Dear RPRC family,

Today’s letter comes from our beloved Mary Wisner…

Today’s lesson in Job has us looking at God as worthy. Job must have realized this even before all his troubles as he is described in the first verse as “fearing God.” Job offers sacrifices to God. The worst of the worst happened to Job. His wife suggested to make a quick end of his life and misery by denouncing God. And yet he never does. His worship was to One who was worthy.

Is your worship of God conditional? Or do you see God as worthy of your worship no matter what? When my faith was younger, I responded to unanswered prayer as if I had been cheated. How could you God? If you loved me, you’d never let that happen. A more mature faith sees God as worthy even if things don’t go my way. I have not always received answers I wanted. God is still deserving of my worship even if I can’t see the whole picture.

Join the many angels surrounding the throne saying: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” Rev. 5

Blessings, Mary Wisner
