Our Defender

Dear RPRC family,

This week’s letter comes from our beloved Mary Wisner…

It is difficult to read Job. Most never get past the first two or three chapters…so let’s just start there on our quest to learn more of what Job has to teach us about God.

The first scene we are let in on a secret. The main characters are Job, God, and Satan. Satan, I will call him the accuser, accused Job of being a faithful follower only because he had something to gain from his relationship to God. God vehemently disagreed and allowed the accuser to torment Job in order to prove Job’s loyalty.

It strikes me that God defends Job. Have you ever thought about God being your defender? He loves you so much that He stands against the accuser and defends you even onto death. (Phil. 2:8) You are worth it. His creation.

Contemplate what it means to have someone defend you. How would that change your behavior?

Until next week. Blessed be His name.

Mary Wisner
